Make sure you tune in to BBC Radio Lancashire (tomorrow) Wednesday 24th November between 11am and 1pm. The programme is certain to be interesting and informative, and will provide listeners with invaluable advice on how to be more energy efficient and of course reduce their energy bills.
The topic of discussion on Wednesday’s ‘You and Yours’ programme was that of Solar energy, and the generous returns that can be gained from such renewable technologies. In particular the focus was on farmers, and how they can benefit from using their land for large scale solar systems.
Farmers are being offered huge rewards to rent out their fields to organisations who install solar panels. Generous subsidies, better known as Feed In Tariffs launched earlier this year which reward individual micro generators. They were aimed at homes and small businesses, but now because the returns are so high and tax free, solar PV is attracting speculators from all across the spectrum. The environmental and financial benefits attached to solar PV is only going to attract yet more people in 2011.
